Initial Steps
Getting Started
While each situation is unique, we typically follow these steps:
1. Complimentary Initial Consultation
We start with a short conversation to see if mediation is the right fit and whether we are a good match to work together. At this stage, we focus on providing general information about our process and your options—not case specifics.
2. Follow-Up Consultation
If mediation seems appropriate, we schedule a more in‑depth discussion by Zoom or phone to learn more about your situation and outline the scope and cost of your mediation.
3. Engagement Agreement
Once we decide to move forward, we will prepare an engagement agreement that clearly defines the details of our mediation services.
4. Pre-Mediation Meeting
After we are engaged, we meet separately with the parties to understand each side’s unique needs, identify key issues and define priorities. These meetings set the stage for a productive mediation.
